More than once I have had to leave dirty plates in the sink because of larger bowls that needed to go into the bottom rack. Where I struggle is with the lay out of the lower basket and dinner plates or even salad plates when I have my large mixing bowl in for cleaning (I removed the silverware baskets from the lower rack and am using them to organize some cleaning supplies under my sink.) For reference my mixer is a KitchenAid that is one step down from commercial capacity so the bowl is large. I love the third rack for my silverware and flat items, like silicon bowl covers for use in the microwave. I didn't realize how much my 16 year old dishwasher was struggling. It is literally silent other than when it discharges water and that is pretty noisy (our plumbing is probably the culprit there). It does an amazing job cleaning the dishes. I think it is more my learning curve than anything. Therere are features I like and features I am still sorting through. Trying to write this review is tough because this dishwasher is so radically different from my old one.
